Travel is about more than amusement, it’s about connecting to your world.
Overland travel takes you beyond the ordinary, it takes you to where adventures happen.
With a properly-outfitted vehicle, your destinations are limited only by your imagination.
Nature Therapy
Have you ever stood in a place so far from the incessant drone of human society that you heard the wind in the grass, and the whup of a bird’s wings as it flew overhead? It begins a connection that takes you completely out of your day-to-day headspace, and connects you to your world in a way that fills your soul.
I find that a few days out in nature is the only way I get to truly relax. I come back home with a clearer mind, and am ready to take on the normal stresses of the work week.
Cultural Discovery, One Bite at a Time
To truly understand Eastern North Carolina, you have to try the barbecue.
Of course, there’s a lot more than that to ENC, but every part of our country has a dish that is so defined by the place that originated it and, in turn, defines that place, that you simply have to try it. You won’t find those culinary experiences until you get away from the big-brand chains, and get out to where the mom-and-pop cafes have been doing it the same way for generations.
Overland travel just inherently takes you out into the places where you find the restaurants that won’t have a ton of Yelp reviews. Just the kind of places where, if you know, you know.
“To be whole. To be complete. Wildness reminds us what it means to be human, what we are connected to rather than what we are separate from.”
— Terry Tempest Williams
